                                    Associate Broker

About "Mr. Kempsville":

Alan started his real estate career after graduating from ODU in 1978 and a brief stint in the management training program at United Virginia Bank (now Sun Trust Bank).  From early 1980 until 1995 He was a top producing agent at Womble Realty and received the board of realtors "million dollar award" each and every year including the Gold awards in 1994 and 1995.  Alan also obtained his Associate Brokers license in 1993 and spend a brief time in management with Rose and Womble.  With the dawn of the internet, Alan saw an opportunity to elevate his business and moved to ReMax Central Realty where he affectionately became known as “Mr. Kempsville” and built a team of 2 agents and two administrative assistants which he kept for almost 15 years.  He also hopped onto the "early internet" and took the URL, which he still identifies with today, along with over 20 others!

With hundreds of sales, the ReMax Hall of Fame, lifetime achievement award and gold and platinum awards each of the years with ReMax, Alan became a fixture of longevity and consistency in the Hampton Roads Real Estate Market.  In 2009, Alan decided to open his own office with Real Executives Professionals in the Kemps River Shopping Center.  After leading that company in sales in 2013, the opportunity arose to re-connect with a lifetime friend and mentor, Pamela Ermen, at The Real Estate Group.  With over 2100 transaction and almost 1500 sales during the past 35 years, Alan has kept a consistent loyal successful following and presently has an administrative assistant, a property management division, a team agent and a closing coordinator.

Real Estate has been Alan's only career and even though the business has gone through many changes, Alan has excelled in all market conditions.  His one constant has been is ability to connect with people, represent their home buying or selling interests and maintain a family (35 years married to Arlene with 3 grown daughters Melissa, Jennifer and Dianna, and 4 grandchildren).  Still active in ODU alumni endeavors, Community United Methodist Church and most recently sailing aboard their 41 foot sailboat, Alan is uniquely qualified to represent you having served Kempsville and beyond for over 35 years!
